For the past 8 years I have been using an eco-friendly fiberfill made from corn. The past couple of years, it has become more difficult to find suppliers that still offer this product, and unfortunately this year I can no longer order it.
To keep with my desire to use packing materials that are either recycled, can be recycled or are biodegradable, I have been on the search for an acceptable replacement that will hopefully not raise the costs of shipping more than they have to.
I have ordered a small quantity of natural cotton fiberfill to replace the one made from corn. So far, I am happy with the way it cradles my dragons. I have however noticed that since it is in its natural form that the cotton has a subtle scent when you first open the packaging. It's not strong, it's almost a sweet smell to me. I have read that some people call it a nutty or earthy scent.
So with this announcement moving forward, I will be using the cotton fiberfill to pack my sculptures, unless I find something different. If you are sensitive to scents and would prefer that I do not use the cotton option, then you can leave a note during checkout to use a polyester fiberfill instead.
